What Is The Capital Beltway League?
In February 2009 the Westlake Bulldogs became the first and only club in Charles County selected to join The Capital Beltway League in its 20 year existence. We have added this program to our long-standing relationship with the CCYFL, giving our families a very broad selection. The CBL is a "select" football league which offers a much broader weight to age matrix which accommodates more players and allows for more children to play with their age group. The Capital Beltway League also provides four times the amount of teams per division around the local Beltway selecting the most elite players in their area, which results in a much higher level of competition. Combine all of this along with the most player exposure to high school footballl coaches throughout Maryland, Post Season Play at some of the most prestigious college football stadiums in Maryland, and a State championship in M&T Bank Stadium, the Capital Beltway League is clearly the best choice for your child! We are looking for the most elite athlete's to come represent Southern Maryland in the Capital Beltway League!

Yes, we are bragging! We have been serving our community with the absolute finest top quality youth tackle football and cheerleading programs for 14 years, and are recognized as the premier youth football and cheerleading program in Southern Maryland. It's time for you to join over 12,000 football players and cheerleaders that have already been part of the Westlake Bulldog family! Registration for our teams will begin soon. Teams will fill fast. Use our convenient online registration to assure your child a roster spot. We offer football and cheerleading to children ages 5 - 15.
Westlake Bulldogs Youth Football and Cheerleading is a nonprofit 501(c) organization committed to the athletic and academic improvement of our children. Our goal is to not only teach the fundamentals of the sport, but to promote sportsmanship and teamwork, encourage each child to be confident and successful in their own development and ensure that the family has a positive experience. Our coaches have many years of youth football and cheerleading experience, and your child is sure to have a great time, make new friends, and learn football and cheerleading, and be introduced to the qualities which will assure a successful future scholastically, intellectually, and socially.
Interview :All head coaches must go through an interview process for to coach with the Bulldogs. These will occur in May, so apply NOW. Contact the Football Director of the Westlake Bulldogs at (westlakebulldogs@comcast.net) if you have any questions.
Certifications:All coaches (including any assistants) MUST be certified through the National Youth Sports Coaching Association (NYSCA) Certification Program. All certifications must be completed before the first practice.
Clinics:In addition to all coaches being required to get certified, head coaches will be required to attend coaching clinics. There are several hosted in the area. We will be adding to the list on the Coaches Page as we receive clinic details.
